Unitek College in Fremont is seeking candidates for the position of Program Director of Allied Health & Technology.  Unitek offers college level diploma programs in Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Pharmacy Technology, and Information Technology.  The Program Director will oversee the faculty and students in these 4 programs and report directly to the Campus Director.     

Key job responsibilities include:
  • Manage academic programs to meet or exceed benchmarks for student outcomes in retention, graduation, and job placement. 
  • Hire, train, develop, and schedule competent and dedicated faculty to teach in all 4 programs.
  • Enforce student and faculty compliance with state and federal regulations, national accreditation standards, and Unitek specific policies including the student catalog and Code of Conduct.
  • Chair weekly retention team meetings and track progress of potential re-entry students.
  • Organize and document participation of semi-annual Program Advisory Committee meetings for all assigned programs.
  • Ensure student advising is completed and documented as needed in each program.
  • Maintain faculty files in accordance with standards.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate MUST have:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience working in academic administration.
  • At least 3 years work experience in one of the above allied health program areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including setting expectations and managing for performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for the value of education.
  • Empathy and kindness for all students.
  • Energy and organizational skills for multi-tasking.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with CampusVue software preferred.
