Medical Office Administration Instructor ( Part time, 25-27 hours/week)

Job Description:
  1. Teach depth and scope of class materials as described in syllabi and catalog and relates the instruction to careers and employer expectations.
  2. Works creatively in all classes taught to discourage student withdrawal and maintain satisfactory retention.
  3. Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
  4. Prepare and utilize approved lesson plans.
  5. Evaluate student competence based on program philosophy and objectives.
  6. Prepare student progress reports and grade reports; maintaining accurate and timely attendance records.
  7. Call students who are absent and submit written reports of pertinent information to the Program Director.
  8. Attend faculty meetings.
  9. Follow the school academic policies at all times.
  10. Other duties as assigned

Education:    
Post-secondary Certificate of Completion in Medical Assisting, or higher medical degree related to Medical Assisting, is required. Minimum of 3 years work experience in related field. Teaching experience preferred.
 
 Experience:
  • At least 3 years’ of demonstrable work experience in a Medical Office Administrative role, Medical Office Assistant/Front Office role.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Coding experience, CPC or AAPC preferred.
  • Medical front office experience (Setting appointments, communicating with health insurance agencies, managing patient health records, Medicaid/Medicare claims)
  • Working knowledge of medical billing and code procedures: ICD-10, Outpatient Coding, CPT, and HCPCS, and patient accounts and patient billing experience
 
Salary:            Base Salary is commensurate with verified qualifications.
